Position Summary:

Southern Utah University Advancement Department is looking for an intelligent, strategic, and resourceful thinker to help the organization expand its donor relationship outreach efforts. Donor Relations Interns will work under the direction of the Donor Relations Manager in the Advancement Department.

Responsabilities:

  • Drafting communications such as new donor mailings, appeals, and thank you letters.
  • Updating and maintaining donor profiles on our database.
  • Reviewing and determining action items on scholarship reports.
  • Researching leads for potential donors and creating donor profiles.
  • Updating and maintaining donor profile database.
  • Assisting the advancement office on tasks as needed.
  • Prepare and report on donor surveys.
  • Research purchasing options for gift items requested.
  • Organize communications and RSVP’s for special events.
  • Gather articles, etc for alumni magazine and email newsletters.
  • Assist with event planning and donor visits.
  • Other Donor Relations tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Enthusiasm and interest in fundraising and relationship management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively multi-task.
